Blue lotus (nymphaea caerulea) was originally known as ‘blue water lily’ or ‘Egyptian lotus’ though the terms are now typically used interchangeably. A special flower traditionally used in ancient Egypt, it contains nuciferine and aporphine, known to activate both serotonin and dopamine receptors. Blue lotus may occasionally bring in a mildly euphoric sedative effect, but its most notable influence is usually seen during sleep. This flower naturally provides the bluish-purple color found in our Blue Dream Blend.
